Kourtney Kardashian tattoos 'I love you' on Travis Barker, more news

Travis Barker lets Kourtney Kardashian tattoo his arm as Shanna Moakler questions their ‘weird’ PDA

If Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s copious PDA indulgences haven’t made it clear they’re in love, look no further than the Blink-182 drummer’s forearm for the latest bit of evidence. On May 12, Kourtney shared a series of Instagram pics and video that showed her smiling as she tried her hand at the art of body art, inking the words “I love you” in cursive on her man’s arm. “I tattoo,” she captioned the post.”🖤 Woman of many talents,” Travis replied. He shared more pics from the session on his own page, where he dubbed the Poosh founder, “Best tattoo artist @kourtneykardash.” A closer inspection of the semi-shaky handwriting indicates the word “best” might be a little optimistic, but hey, love is blind, right? The smitten couple reportedly found love in late 2020 after being friends and neighbors for years. Since then, Kourtney, 42, and Travis, 45, have only ramped up their romance — and their shared penchant for public displays of love and affection, such as Travis’ tattoo of Kourtney’s name on his chest. Some of that hasn’t been received too well by the rocker’s ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, though. On the same day Kourtney and Travis debuted his new ink, People published an interview with Shanna in which she called “some of the PDA that he’s doing with” Kourtney “weird.” Said Shanna, “The movie, ‘True Romance,’ that I feel like they’ve been bonding over was the theme of our wedding. Our daughter’s named after the character in the movie. Flying banners overhead like we did on ‘Meet the Barkers.’ Stuff like that … I just think it’s weird.”

Ellen DeGeneres’ long-running talk show is coming to an end: ‘I need a new challenge’

After a roller coaster 2020, Ellen DeGeneres has decided to make a huge change in her life and career. The comic and daytime talk show host announced to her staff on May 11 that “Ellen” will be coming to an end in 2022 after the show’s 19th season. “I’m a creative person, and when you’re a creative person you constantly need to be challenged, which is why I decided to host the Oscars or why I decided to go back to stand-up when I didn’t think I would. I just needed something to challenge me,” Ellen told The Hollywood Reporter in her first interview about the news. (She’s also slated to discuss her decision, which THR notes was “hers alone,” with Oprah Winfrey on the May 13 edition of “Ellen.”) “And as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore. I need something new to challenge me.” Ellen also told THR that she initially planned to end the show after Season 16, as she told the New York Times she might do back in 2018. Ellen’s wife, Portia de Rossi, was encouraging her to move on at the time, but she opted to stick around for a bit. What will be her final contract will end after Ellen was hit with a toxic workplace scandal last year. “It almost impacted the show,” she told THR. “It was very hurtful to me. I mean, very. But if I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn’t have come back this season.” Ellen ultimately apologized, earning huge ratings, on the Season 18 premiere, but ratings have reportedly fallen hard since then. Looking ahead, she said she’s not sure what’s next, but shewants to devote more time to her conservation charity work. She also hasn’t ruled out a return to acting. After hosting 180 shows a year for 19 years, though, Ellen said her agent thinks she should “just sit still for a minute.”

Miley Cyrus reflects on her love for ex, Liam Hemsworth on the anniversary of ‘Malibu’

Miley Cyrus was feeling nostalgic this week about the house and life she shared with ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, in Malibu before they separated. As she told Instagram followers in a reflective post on May 11, that life, and Liam’s presence in it, inspired one of her most personal songs in 2017. “Today is the 4 year anniversary of Malibu,” Miley wrote alongside a clip that showed her working on the tune in the house that she and Liam would lose to the California wildfires one year later. “A song about a place and person that at the time I loved very much,” she continued. “That love was reciprocated beyond what I could describe here with freedom & escapism. I lost that home along with many others in 2018. Here is a video of me writing it in my home studio. 🌊 💕 🦢.” Last year, Miley opened up about her 2019 divorce on “The Joe Rogan Podcast,” where she explained why ending a marriage in the public eye was so hard. “What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore. That’s OK, I can accept that,” she said at the time. “I can’t accept the villainizing and just all those stories.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announces Jay-Z, Tina Turner and more inductees for 2021

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced what it says is its most diverse class of inductees ever for 2021. This year’s recognized artists include Jay-Z, who’s set to become the first living solo rapper ever inducted, and Tina Turner, whose honor alongside The Go-Gos and Carole King marks the first time three women or all-female groups earned a spot in the performers category in the same year, according to USA Today. While the Go-Go’s became eligible for Hall of Fame induction back in 2006, Jay just became eligible this year, having only recently fulfilled the eligibility requirement of surpassing 25 years since the first release of a commercial recording. The Foo Fighters also just became eligible and got a nod from the Hall for 2021. Other artists slated to be honored at this year’s ceremony include Todd Rundgren, LL Cool J, Billy Preston, Kraftwerk, Gil Scott Heron and Charley Patton. The induction event is scheduled for Oct. 30.

Olivia Rodrigo, 18, left handwritten notes for Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and more of her idols at the BRIT Awards

Olivia Rodrigo recently that since the massive success of her song “Drivers License,” she’s noticed more experienced artists have welcomed her into the music industry fold with open arms. That might be why the 18-year-old reportedly left cards for some of her biggest pop idols on their tables at this week’s BRIT Awards in London. Though it’s unclear what she wrote inside, photos popped up after the event on social media that showed Olivia’s signature — along with “hope ur ok” and a heart — on purple envelopes beside everyone from Taylor Swift to Harry Styles to Little Mix. “It’s just been so, so cool to watch these people that I’ve idolized for years sort of become my peers. That’s the most incredible thing,” the singer told ET earlier this year. “I’ve just been really touched by the way that so many, more established artists have really welcomed me into the music industry and gone out of their way to welcome me.” Taylor, by the way, is officially a case in point. Olivia frequently gushes about her inner Swiftie-ness — and she finally got to hang out with this year’s BRIT Awards’ Global Icon winner at the show, where the two posed for a silly, black-and-white selfie.

Grimes reveals she had a severe panic attack after Elon Musk’s ‘SNL’ debut

Singer, visual artist and Elon Musk’s better half, Grimes, revealed this week that she had a panic attack after her boyfriend’s controversial “Saturday Night Live” debut. “Forgot to post these cuz I somehow caused myself to have a panic attack and went to the hospital yesterday which tbh was quite scary and I suppose it’s a good time to start therapy 😑😑😑,” Grimes wrote on Instagram on May 11, sharing backstage pics from “SNL.” The photos showed Grimes dressed as Princess Peach, of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. fame, hamming it up for the camera alongside Miley Cyrus, the night’s musical guest. “But nonetheless – wowwwww @mileycyrus is good live and so chill!” Grimes gushed. “So grateful to the SNL team for being so kind and letting me sneak in as princess peach,” she continued, “[and] so proud of my beautiful E (which I know will upset the grimes fans so I apologize in advance) but he killed it.” The post earned support from a handful of Grimes’ famous friends including Janelle Monae, who reacted with a pair of red hearts in the comments, and Paris Hilton. Grimes’ candid revelation about her anxiety comes after Elon mentioned in his “SNL” monologue that he suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder that usually causes “obsessive interest in a single object or topic,” according to Health.com. Health also notes people with Asperger’s often display “peculiarities in speech and language” — a factoid Elon and Grimes’ 1-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, may want to keep handy once he reaches playground age.

Halston family slams Ewan McGregor, Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Netflix biopic

Just days before Ewan McGregor transforms into the legendary designer Halston on Ryan Murphy’s limited series biopic, the Halston Archives and Family has slammed the series as “an inaccurate, fictionalized account” in a letter on PRNewswire. Noting that that family members of the late fashion icon “were not consulted on the upcoming Netflix series,” the announcement added, “The HALSTON Archives remains the only definitive and comprehensive source on the man and his legacy as the personally appointed custodian of his private papers and effects.” The show is due to premiere on May 14 with Ewan playing the brilliant but excess-loving Roy Halston Frowick, who went by his one-word middle name as his work earned him international acclaim. It’s based on Steven Gaines’ book “Simply Halston,” according to the New York Times, and focuses heavily on the late celebrity’s relationships with his longtime partner Victor Hugo and model and jewelry designer Peretti. Though Ewan, who was born in Scotland, admitted to the Times he’d “never heard of” Halston before signing on for the show, fashion giants including Andre Leon Talley have already praised Ewan’s performance.

Chris Rock recalls the last time he saw his close friend Chris Farley before his death: ‘I knew’

Chris Rock says the last time he saw Chris Farley, he “knew” the end was coming for the troubled yet hilarious “Saturday Night Live” star, with whom he was very close until Farley’s death in 1997. In a new interview with Esquire, the outlet asks Rock about a photo of the two with Adam Sandler and David Spade. The photo sparked a heartbreaking memory for him. “This was a great day,” he recalled, sharing a few details about the celebration in the photo. “This looks like one of the last times I saw Chris alive,” Rock continued. “I would see him one more time when I did a gig in Chicago. We tried to hang out afterward, but … I don’t know if you’ve ever really hung out with an addict towards the end. Anything that isn’t the drug is a chore. I remember I was at his apartment … I leave, I see him out the window, and I was like, ‘That’s probably the last time I’m going to see him.’ Like I knew.'” Soon after that, Farley died of a morphine and cocaine overdose. “Me, Sandler, Spade, and Farley—we shared an office at ‘Saturday Night Live,'” Rock added. “We called it a dorm. We’re friends to this day. I love those guys.”

Jennifer Garner shares her ‘takeaways’ after visiting a migrant center with ‘Yes Day’ costar Edgar Ramirez

Jennifer Garner’s been heavily focused on advocacy work this month — and last week, she brought her “Yes Day” costar and friend, Edgar Ramirez, along to help. As the actors shared on social media on May 11, they recently visited Casa Alitas, a migrant shelter in Tucson, Arizona, that provides humanitarian services and support to families and pregnant women who have recently been released by ICE or border patrol. At Casa Alitas, they’re offered “a safe place to rest, rehydrate, eat, and care for their children,” as well as a chance to change and “wash up,” according to the nonprofit’s Facebook page. Jen, a longtime ambassador for Save the Children and a mother of three, and Edgar were given a tour of the hospitality center, where they later served fruit and other food to families who were just arriving, played with some of the children and read to kids in Spanish. In the caption to the montage, Jen shared six “takeaways” from her trip. “Edgar says it best: No one wants to leave home,” she began. “Children and families are arriving to the U.S. – Mexico border, having fled unimaginable violence and disasters in their home countries.” Other “takeaways” included the fact that climate migration “is happening now” and will continue amid ongoing bouts of drought and famine in multiple counties; that the Border Patrol officers and humanitarian aid workers they met with “have the same message: we need immigration reform;” and that “people are good,” especially those working to support and advocate for families like the ones Jen and Edgar met on their visit. “This is a thorny, politicized issue, but with babies and children at the center — it is on us to keep working together toward solutions,” Jen added, thanking Edgar “for adding your heart to our trip” and “everyone in Tucson” who shared their stories. Jen’s also slated to travel to her home state of West Virginia with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden on May 12, where the pair will visit schools to discuss COVID-19 vaccines and Biden administration policy initiatives, according to People.
