Lady Gaga Says Petition For ‘Artpop’ Sequel Inspired ‘Tremendous Warmth In My Heart’

Lady Gaga has responded to a fan campaign calling for a sequel to her 2013 album Artpop.

Nearly eight years after Artpop‘s release, a petition from Gaga fans calling for “Act II” to the album collected more than 40,000 signatures.

The hashtag #buyARTPOPoniTunes went viral on Twitter on Tuesday, helping the record hit No. 1 on the iTunes Pop chart in the U.S. and globally.

The pop star reacted on Twitter saying that the petition to #buyARTPOPoniTunes for a volume II has inspired tremendous warmth in her heart.

“Making this album was like heart surgery, I was desperate, in pain, and poured my heart into electronic music that slammed harder than any drug I could find,” she added.

Gaga said she fell apart after releasing the album. She thanked the fans for “celebrating something that once felt like destruction.”

“We always believed it was ahead of its time. Years later turns out, sometimes, artists know. And so do little monsters. Paws up,” the tweet ends.
