Lily James is arm-in-arm with a mystery man

Lily James is arm-in-arm with a mystery man as newly single actress heads home in the early hours after celebrating the launch of new film What’s Love Got To Do With It?

Lily James was arm-in-arm with a mystery friend as she made her way home on Monday evening, shortly after celebrating the release of her latest film.

The actress, newly single after ending a two-year romance with musician Michael Shuman, left London’s Soho House in the early hours following the launch of new romantic comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It?

James, 33, wore the same vibrant green evening dress she’s selected for her red carpet appearance earlier that evening as she linked arms with an unfamiliar looking male companion after exiting the venue.

She layered the outfit with a full-length lemon yellow coat as the pair made their way towards a waiting chauffeur driven Mercedes.

The actress had been attending an after-party following the red carpet premiere of her latest film, a multicultural rom-com released just in time for Valentine’s Day.

In good company: Lily James ws arm-in-arm with a mystery friend as she made her way home on Monday evening, shortly after celebrating the release of her latest film

James and the Queens Of The Stone Age musician Shuman, 37, have called time on their relationship after growing apart in recent months, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘Lily and Michael have grown apart in recent months and have now decided to end their relationship.

‘They just couldn’t make it work as a couple, but they both wish each other the best for the future.’

The couple were first linked in February 2021 after they were spotted sharing a kiss outside a boutique hotel in Suffolk while she filmed What’s Love Got To Do With It?

An eyewitness told the Daily Mail at the time: ‘Lily’s driver turned up just after 9am, then she and Michael emerged from the hotel together a few minutes later.

‘They were laughing and joking and looked very happy together.’

They subsequently made their red carpet debut at the 94th annual Academy Awards on March 27, 2022.

Over: Lily James has reportedly split from her rockstar boyfriend Michael Shuman after a two year romance

Stepping out: James and her male friend left London’s Soho House in the early hours following the launch of new romantic comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It?

The actress’s relationship with Shuman initially came as a shock to fans of the pair, as Lily is known for her family friendly roles in Downton Abbey, Cinderella and Mamma Mia.

The musician is a member of American rock band Queens Of The Stone Age, the band notorious for on-stage nudity and claims of drug and alcohol abuse.

The Mamma Mia star has kept her personal life private since she became the subject of worldwide scrutiny when images emerged showing her and actor Dominic West enjoying an al fresco lunch with their mutual agent, Angharad Wood, in October 2020.

They enjoyed a two-day vacation in Italy where they were seen riding on a scooter through Rome, and Dominic appeared to at one point lean over and kiss her neck.

James previously dated The Crown star Matt Smith, 40, on and off for five years, with the relationship said to be over just weeks before she was pictured with West.

Friends: James was seen embracing musician and producer Naughty Boy at the film’s after-party in London on Monday evening

There he is: Naughty Boy posed for photographs as he left the party later that evening

In July 2020, the actress was pictured heading back to Chris Evans’ London hotel after partying into the early hours at private members’ venue, Mark’s Club in Mayfair.

James has raised eyebrows in the past by forging close friendships with her co-stars in recent productions – Armie Hammer in Rebecca and Dominic in BBC drama The Pursuit Of Love.
