Former Eternal singer Louise Redknapp, 46, has found an unlikely source of dating advice – her son Charley, 16. Singer and former wife of footballer Jamie Redknapp, 47, Louise detailed in her confessional book that their eldest has been helping her navigate the dating scene.

The star wrote about how her son had warned her about moving a conversation with someone she had just met onto the aforementioned mobile app.

The teenager warned his mum about the potential reasons why someone would want to chat on the app – namely, to share explicit photos.

She said: “I was talking to Charley one day about how I’d met a guy who wanted to bring the conversation over to Snapchat, and immediately he was like, ‘Mum, no’.

“Apparently, the only reason you want to Snapchat is if you’ve already got a partner or you just want to share explicit pho

She finished: “Who knew I’d be getting dating advice from my son?”

Following 19 years of marriage Louise and Jamie split in 201 her stint  Strictly Come Dancing.

TV’s former golden couple became engaged while on holiday in Bermuda and married later that week on the exotic island in a “private and small” ceremony.

The couple went on to have two sons together, Charley and Beau, 10.

While Jamie has been spotted out and about with model Frida Andersson-Lourie, 37, Louise has kept quiet on her love life, until now.

The former Strictly contestant spoke about navigating the world of dating apps and more specifically how she had been ghosted by a prospective partner.

She revealed in her book: “I had what I thought was a good chat with a guy, and then one day he asked me what I was up to.

“I said, ‘Oh, I’m just going for a bike ride’. And that was the end of that.

“It’s been five months and no reply,” she added.

The television star continued: “I’m just sitting here wondering what was it that I said? Are bike rides that unattractive?

“Basically, this is a way to say the new world of dating is so opaque and difficult to navigate.”

Also in her book, Louise addressed the issue of parenting double standards that she’s faced since her split from her children’s dad.

She said: “When I split up with Jamie, the accusations came in thick and fast.

“I was so heavily judged, and it amazed me that so many people, including other women, made assumptions about what I was or wasn’t doing when it came to my kids.

“I noticed real double standards: women are simply expected to be with their kids, whereas if fathers spend any time with their children, then suddenly they are ‘Super Dad’ or Dad of the Year’.”
