Love Island fans say new bombshell looks just like past star who had dramatic villa stint

Love Island bosses are continuing to shake things up in the villa and fans are thrilled by all the drama so far, despite the show only being in its second week. A sneak peek of tonight’s episode revealed a new bombshell entering the villa, and fans are saying he is the spitting image of another memorable Islander.

Meet Scott Van Der Sluis, a 22-year-old footballer hailing from Connah's Quay in North Wales, who fans are already comparing to former Love Island star Jacques O'Neill, Paige Thorne's ex-boyfriend.

After the big reveal, fans rushed to twitter to share their thoughts, with one tweeting: “Not me getting a jump scare because I thought the new bombshell was Jacques.”

Another wrote: “who brought jacques 2.0 in as a bombshell pls."

A third added: “Genuinely had to rewind my tv cos I thought this was Jacques.”

A fourth chimed in: “Sorry. SORRRRYYYYYYY. IS THAT JACQUES? Someone tell me that’s not Jacques before I go into cardiac arrest.”

Jacques and Paige were coupled together on the hit dating reality show last year, before Jacques made the decision to leave to look after his mental health.

Following this, 25 year old Paige ended up getting with serial Love Islander, Adam Collard, and making their relationship official, although they swiftly called it quits after the villa after the personal trainer was accused of cheating.

New islander Scott is also hoping to stir things up in the villa after being single for three and a half years. Despite claiming that means he's "ready and open to anything", he has a specific list of what gives him the ick.

He said: "Someone who gets too clingy too quickly. I don’t like too many calls and too many texts.

"I’m not a fan of someone wearing Nike Air Force 1 trainers with a dress on a night out either or waking up with someone and seeing patchy fake tan in the morning."

He added: "I’ve been single through my own choice, as well as circumstances. I’ve moved around a lot with football and I’ve been based in Dublin playing football for over a year."

Describing himself as "tall, dark, handsome and I’m a goalkeeper, so I’m good with my hands," Scott said that he thought he would be a voice of reason in the villa, which has been rocked by plenty of drama so far – including Ruchee Gurung's dumping after a recent recoupling.

"My family would say that I’m very well-spoken and very diplomatic, I’m good at breaking up situations," he said. "If someone is in the wrong, I'll call them out on it. I’m a person that you can always turn to for advice."

Hopefully, Scott will be a welcome addition to the villa which is currently in the midst of drama surrounding the love triangle between Molly Marsh, Mitchel Taylor and Zachariah Noble. Asked what his favourite moment from any previous series of the show was, the footballer replied: "When Chris Hughes asked 'Does anyone want me to rap a little bit to lift the mood'."
