Love Islands Zara McDermott wants to be Strictlys sexiest contestant ever

Zara McDermottis heading to this year’s Strictly and has plans to be the dance show’s ‘sexiest contestant ever’.

The former Love Island star, 26, is one of 15 new contestants set to hit the dance floor in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and is reportedly ready to bring in the glam factor when it comes to her wardrobe.

Zara found fame as a contestant on Love Island in 2018 and has since gone on to join a huge array of TV projects, including Made In Chelsea and a series of documentaries that she’s fronted as presenter.

However, as one source claims, Zara’s upcoming stint on Strictly will allow her to have some fun with her costumes as she competes against other stars for a chance to lift the show’s famous glitterball trophy.

A source said: “Zara is absolutely stunning and puts in the work at the gym so she’s rightly proud of her body.

“Plus she’s young, fun and into fashion so she’s told the team she’s up for anything they throw at her – the shorter and skimpier the better, really.

They continued to tell The Sun: “Zara knows she is the glam girl in this year’s cast and is up for the challenge of being the show’s sexiest star yet.

“Zara is out to prove what you wear has nothing to do with your work or your intelligence, so owning the Strictly wardrobe is just part of that.”

Zara confirmed she was a new Strictly star earlier this week and shared how excited she was to join the show, despite being “petrified of dancing”.

She told BBC Radio 1: "I grew up watching it every year with my nan and she was the biggest Strictly fan. We would dance around the house and I have such fond memories of that time in my life.

"I even remember the first ever series, and being mesmerised by all the beautiful dresses.

"I can’t wait to throw myself into this experience and start training.”

She then added: "I have zero dance experience. I don't even dance in a nightclub – I'm that petrified of dancing."

Zara will be joined by a host of other celebrities on this year’s show including Les Dennis, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, Nigel Harman, Adam Thomas, Ellie Leach and Bobby Brazier.

She’ll also be joined by Angela Scanlon, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Annabel Croft, Jody Cundy, Amanda Abbington and Nikita Kanda.
