Lucy Alexander: Homes Under The Hammer star’s accidental Bridgerton resemblance

Lucy Alexander jokes she looks like a 'Bridgerton character'

Lucy Alexander, 50, seemed to have gone back in time and joined the lords and ladies in the 1800s as she likened herself to a member of the cast of Bridgeton. Netflix’s latest period drama has shot to success, focusing on the wealthy Bridgerton family as the eight close-knit siblings attempt to find love in the Regency era in England.

I actually look like somebody from Bridgeton right now! It’s always interesting when you take your hat off

With the big hair and big dresses becoming big fashion statements, Lucy admitted she felt part of the set as she revealed her hat hair after a winter’s walk with her dog Teddy.

Taking to Instagram, the former Homes Under The Hammer presenter documented their little outing to Hampton Court Palace as she spoke to her followers.

“Out for a nice morning walk by the palace this morning with Teddy,” she beamed, wrapped up in a green coat and black wooly hat pulled down over her ears to keep out the bitter cold.

She filmed a separate video when the pair returned to the car, where Lucy removed her hat to reveal her heightened barnet.

“Happy Sunday everybody, it could be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, any day,” she giggled referring to the period after Christmas and New Year everyone feels a little lost.

She reminded everyone to “stay safe” as she explained she was going to do the family food shop before heading home.

Before she signed off, she removed her wooly hat: “There you go, hat hair,” she exclaimed as her blonde locks stood to attention on her head.

“I actually look like somebody from Bridgerton right now! It’s always interesting when you take your hat off,” she laughed, showing fans.

“My hair has got so thick and gone a bit wild over lockdown, I really do look like a Bridgerton character!”

Back in real life, away from the series many viewers have been lost in since Bridgerton premiered on the streaming site on Christmas Day, the BBC presenter revealed her dismay as her first job of the New Year had been cancelled due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

While she detailed she had woken up feeling optimistic, it was soon tinged with disappointment.

Lucy captioned her snap: “Woken up today with a positive mindset. Didn’t have a quality street for breakfast so winning.

“Gutted though my first job of 2021 has just cancelled due to the pandemic,” she added.

The presenter, who is mum to Kitty, 18, and Leo, 15, continued: “Took Teddy the dog. Met a friend & had a muddy woods walk and a belly laugh, now back home in my hoodie about to make lunch for me and ‘breakfast’ for the still in bed teenagers of the house (hmmm schools and uni’s are delaying so Lucy’s cafe will be running a week longer).

“Christmas decs are down and house is obviously full of pine needles that I keep stepping on but I’m happy to move forward now as Christmas was a long one this year for me!”

In an earlier post, Lucy said that the build-up to the festive season had been “especially hard” for her this year, as it was the first Christmas without her mum, who died of cancer last year.

The TV star went on to wish her followers a “happy 2021” and encouraged them to get outside in nature.

“Have a good day guys … it’s sunny and crisp here in Surrey and I’m so grateful for my walking and talking for my mental health & just being outside with ‘one other’.

“It’s really what’s keeping me going!”

“Happy 2021,” she signed off.
