Marnie Simpson is eager to lose weight ahead of her wedding to Casey Johnson after going up two dress sizes during lockdown, a source told new.
“Marnie, like so many of us, put on weight during the lockdown. She was a size 8 but she’s now a size 12,” revealed the source.
“She could feel the weight creep on and she notices it a lot when she looks in the mirror.
“She recently did 10 weeks of filming for Geordie OGs and that, combined with looking after her son Rox, meant she grabbed food on the go, which wasn’t always the healthiest option. She’s not beating herself up at all, she knows she’s only human. But she wants to look her best on her wedding day, like all brides.”

The former Geordie Shore star – who is mum to 18-month-old Rox – is even having exercise equipment brought into her home in a bid to look her perfect bridal best on the big day.
“She’s getting a stepper and a treadmill put into a spare room, and wants to do regular workouts,” the source added. “She also wants to eat better. Now she’s finished filming for Geordie OGs, she’s got more time at home, so she can cook and prepare her meals.
Casey is an amazing cook, and has offered to help as much as he can. He’s told her she’s beautiful at any size, but he knows she wants to overhaul her lifestyle for her health, too.”
Marnie, 29, shed 3st in 2020 after she was forced to give up sugar, drink lots of water and eat plenty of vegetables in order to help treat a rare bacterial infection she suffered after giving birth to her son.
And insiders say she’s hopeful a diet overhaul will have a huge impact once again.
“Marnie’s bladder condition means she’s meant to eat a healthy diet and avoid acidic and fatty foods that can trigger issues,” said our source.
“When she did that shortly after having Rox, she shed the baby weight so quickly. She felt great and looked back to her old self.
Now she’s got the wedding as a goal, she wants to get back into good habits. She not only wants to look her best on her wedding day, but to feel her most healthy.”
