It might be his birthday today, but Mark Wright has been forced to self-isolate at home with his wife Michelle Keegan after 11 people at his football club tested positive for coronavirus.

The 34 year old recently signed for league two club Crawley Town and made his debut for the side during their FA Cup clash with Leeds United on January 10.

Along with Michelle, Mark will have to isolate at his Essex home for 10 days as per Government guidelines.

Michelle took to Instagram to wish her husband a Happy Birthday from isolation and said she “can’t wait to celebrate properly” with him.

Sharing a series of snaps of them together, she wrote: “Happy birthday to my husband @wrighty_ You drive me mental and keep me sane at the same time. So proud of you for everything you do and the person that you are. Can’t wait to celebrate properly with you. x".

The actress also posted a black and white picture of Mark with their dogs Phoebe and Pip. She wrote: “We love you loads @wrighty_”.

Mark’s manager confirmed that the star is isolating, saying: "Mark is of course following all guidelines.

"Consequently he has had to postpone his daily BBC 2 fitness show, Workout the Wright Way, by a week, which was due to start next Monday.

"Also he will be broadcasting his daily Heart evening radio show from home, which he did last night, until he is allowed out."

Crawley Town’s match against Bournemouth on Saturday has been postponed due to the positive Covid cases. Mark's younger brother Josh Wright also plays for club.

Mark recently opened up on how Covid-19 has "ripped through his family".

His father Mark Snr was hospitalised with the deadly virus right before Christmas, then his uncle has been in hospital and Mark's nan, who is in her eighties, has also been in the care of the NHS while his grandad "is struggling at home".

The former TOWIE star explained that he's been afraid of the coronavirus since the beginning of the first lockdown back in March 2020, but "it's not until you see it first hand, with your dad being taken to hospital by ambulance, that it truly hits home."

Mark explained that it was this moment that he thought there was a possibility he may never be able to see his father again as he wrote in The Sun Online: "It’s at moments like that you think, ‘I may never see my dad again’.

"All you can do is hope for the best."

He added: "I’m praying every night that they all make a full recovery."
