Nafessa Williams Looks Back On ‘Black Lightning’ Ahead of Final Season Premiere

Nafessa Williams is looking back at her time on Black Lightning!

The 35-year-old actress, who plays Anissa Pierce / Thunder on the show, took to Instagram to reflect as she wraps up filming on the final, fourth season.

“I’m finishing up my 4th and final season of this beautiful ass show. Although this is our last season and there’s a part of me who is sad to see it go,” Nafessa wrote. “There’s a bigger part of me who’s just so damn grateful to have ever been a part of this journey. I’m grateful for the impact it’s had on our culture…that’s forever! I’m also really looking forward to the next chapter in my life.”

“A forever thank you to Salim and Mara Akil, Peter Roth, Mark Pedowitz, Greg Berlanti, Vicky Thomas and everyone involved with me playing Thunder!” she continued. “We coming with so much heat Season 4. Y’all make sure y’all caught up and tap in. Alright, I’m getting teary eyed so let me go! Lol. #BlackLightning #YFEAR @cw_blacklightning @y__fear Braids: @_annadoesmyhair.”

If you missed it, back in November it was revealed that Black Lightning will come to an end after it’s upcoming season. However, it may not be the end of the Black Lightning characters as a backdoor pilot will air during the final season, revolving around the character Painkiller, played by Jordan Calloway.
