60-year-old Carol Vorderman seemed amused by the intensity of the fitness fanatic’s tone, and soon shared her video with her 190,000 followers.

“People ask me how I stay motivated,” zogg.fit had revealed in a dramatic workout video posted to her Instagram stories, before adding: “I don’t.”

You’re not running the NHS!

“When I hit the bottom, or when things get tough, I keep going.”

The fitness trainer from Seattle, whose motto is “overcoming anxiety through wellness”, has almost 25,000 followers.

However, Carol seemed to find the intense and dramatic attitude hilarious, reposting the clip with the words: “Love… you’re doing roly polys, not running the NHS.”

She also added a feisty eye-roll emoji to punctuate her point.

Despite her objections to the fitness enthusiast’s post, Carol is not shy about showing the world the results of her own impressive workout regime.

In fact, she regularly takes the opportunity to flaunt her toned physique.

Not long before she mocked the workout video, Carol had treated her online followers to snaps of her in a black button-up dress, which showcased her sizzling hourglass curves to maximum effect.

The former Countdown mathematician, whose Instagram profile includes the slogan “ROCK WITH WHAT YOU GOT SISTA”, also asked viewers to share their verdict on her new boots, to which many voiced their approval.

Carol has made numerous comments about health and fitness in the past, having previously penned her own motivational books such as Detox Your Life.

She revealed that she shuns calorie-counting and doesn’t visit a gym, perhaps explaining her dismissive attitude towards the fitness influencer’s workout.

Her secrets have instead included adding butter to her coffee to promote slower digestion and avoid weight gain.

She urged aspiring fitness fanatics that the trick was to eat “more, not less” and that “the detox is not about counting calories or fat units, it’s about being aware of the kinds of foods we put into our bodies”.

She has also written Eat Yourself Clever, which explains the foods that the maths whizz credits with boosting her brain power.

The DIY chef is partial to a tuna nicoise salad, but also sometimes eats entire plates consisting solely of vegetables.

The tips and tricks she offers seem to have proved successful for her, as some have marvelled that she seems to be ageing in reverse.

She has also been mistaken for women almost half her age.

Recently, fans saw a photo of Lady Gaga on the front cover of Vogue magazine that made her appear a dead ringer for Carol herself.

Hair and make-up artist Alexis Day pointed out the similarity on her Instagram Stories, to which Carol replied: “I wish” – but the striking similarity is undeniable.

Meanwhile, Carol recently expressed her disappointment at having to miss the Steps concert at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, lamenting that Covid cases had forced the group to cancel.

She commented: “I know @ianhwatkins is absolutely gutted as it was his home town show.”
