Overdue Rachel Riley says shes laid out plastic sheeting as she prepares for home birth

Rachel Riley has gone over her due date with her second child and in an interview with OK! she told us she's on high alert for the forthcoming home birth.

"Touch wood, as long as everything goes smoothly, I’ll be giving birth in our bathroom again," Rachel who is also mum to 23-month-old daughter Maven with her professional dancer partner husband Pasha Kovalev.

"I've got plastic sheeting down everywhere."

Rachel, who tweeted on Halloween saying she was "10 days overdue", also had a home birth with Maven back in December 2019.

Speaking of the impromptu labour, she told OK!: "Our daughter arrived so quickly that the midwives said, “Don’t even try to make it to the hospital this time.

"The midwives arrived with just 20 minutes to spare and I gave birth in our bathroom. I was pleading with Pasha to get the baby out – and that’s because I was almost there.

"But it was only when the doula arrived and said, “Put your hand down there”, that I realised Maven’s head was emerging."

In our interview Rachel describes both pregnancies as "plain sailing" but has suffered with a bout of acid reflux towards the final weeks this time.

But right by her side is Pasha, who she met when taking part in Strictly in 2013.

“He’s such a good egg,” she said.

“He was a huge support when I was heavily pregnant. He picked up the slack, did it with a smile and looked after me when I needed a rest. There’s no one like him."

The glowing Countdown star also explained to OK! she counts herself lucky as she talked having a child soon after their first.

"At 35 I’m considered old biologically," she said.

"I had a miscarriage between the two pregnancies, as have many of my friends, so you can’t count your chickens. Thankfully, I seem to get pregnant easily, which I don’t take for granted."

We can't wait to meet your new arrival, guys!
