According to a new book, the Prince of Wales caught his wife Camilla off guard with a question about the skin tone of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s then-future son.

AceShowbiz -Prince Charles might be to blame for starting the rift between the Sussexes and the British royal family. A new book reveals that the Prince of Wales is the one who asked about Archie’s skin color.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle previously made the allegation during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, but didn’t specify who said it. In “Brothers and Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan” by author Christopher Andersen, a source close to the royal family claims that Charles wondered out loud about the color of the couple’s child before he was born.

The source says that on November 27, 2017, the day Meghan and Harry announced their engagement, Charles wondered out loud to Camilla, “What the children will look like?” Camilla was reportedly caught off guard and responded, “Well, absolutely gorgeous, I’m certain.”

Charles allegedly wasn’t satisfied with the response and asked again with lowered voice, “I mean, what do you think their children’s complexion might be?”

Christopher, however, does not say in his book that Charles is the unnamed “senior royal” whom Harry and Meghan, whose mother is black and father is white, were referring to in their sit-down.

Meanwhile, the palace has quickly denied the new book’s claim. A spokesperson for Prince Charles tells The Post, “This is fiction and not worth further comment.”

Among the bombshell claims that Harry and Meghan made during the tell-all interview with Oprah earlier this year, the former actress revealed a member of the royal family had “concerns” about the color of their future children. At the time, Harry made sure to note that it was not Queen Elizabeth II nor Prince Philip.

Elsewhere in the book, it is alleged that Queen Elizabeth II’s decision to leave out a photo of Archie led to Harry and Meghan’s decision to quit the royal family. In the book, Christopher says the queen had an aide move a portrait of the couple’s then-eight-month-old son off camera before she recorded her 2019 holiday broadcast.

The queen reportedly eliminated Archie’s photo in the wake of Harry’s decision to spend Christmas with his wife, son and mother-in-law Doria Ragland in Canada rather than in the U.K. Harry’s brother Prince William reportedly was left shocked when he watched the photo missing from the lineup in the queen’s televised message.

The Palace neither confirms nor denies this claim. A spokesperson for the queen tells The Post, “We don’t comment on books of this kind as to do so risks giving it some form of authority or credibility.”
