Paul O’Grady has slammed Boris Johnson branding the Prime Minister a “fool”, as he also swiped at the Conservative leader’s colleague and Home Secretary Priti Patel. The British comedian has fumed at the Tories’ handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 66-year-old didn’t hold back as he took aim at Mr Johnson, claiming that he is “out of his depth”.

For the Love of Dogs host added the current situation has become “unbearable”.

The star, who rose to fame as the drag queen Lily Savage, hit out at the Tory ministers in a new interview.

Paul said that he is finding it difficult living with the Conservative Party, as he urged the government to enforce Covid rules.

“Boris is a fool and completely out of his depth,” the comedian told The Mirror.

“Look at the billions the Tories squandered on test and trace. And all his mates who’ve had backhanders.

“We need someone to say, ‘Look if you want to have a good time, you’ve got to wear a mask and you’ve also got to make sure you’re double-vaccinated.’”

His comments come as Sage experts have urged the government to reintroduce “more stringent measures… very soon”.

The Prime Minister has so far resisted imposing further measures after a major rebellion against “plan B” measures last week, when 100 of his MPs opposed him.

Since then, Tories have also criticised England’s chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, for advising people to scale back their Christmas plans.

This is a result of the new Omicron variant which is believed to pose a bigger threat than the Delta variant.

The comic also shared his thoughts on Ms Patel, who he compared to a “pantomime villainess”.

“Priti Patel is worse than ever – a pantomime villainess. God almighty! It’s unbearable,” Paul added to the same publication.

Meanwhile, thousands of protesters blocked streets in London, as demonstrators unleashed their fury over Mr Johnson’s Covid plans.

A demonstration against mandatory vaccinations has been organised by “Take a Stand London”, “Save our Rights” and “The Great Reopening”, along with other protest groups began at 12pm at Parliament Square in Westminster yesterday.

The protest saw people travel to the capital from across the UK and there are also rallies in Bournemouth, Blackburn, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast and the Isle of Wight.

The protest is supported by an umbrella movement called the “Together Declaration”.

Along with 170,000 signatures, including business, religious and campaign leaders, as well as MPs, the group is campaigning against mandatory vaccinations as well as an end to vaccine passports and mass testing.

The government are planning to hold an emergency COBRA meeting which has sparked fears of another UK-wide lockdown, just days before Christmas.

There have been three consecutive days of record cases with new UK infections being reported.
