Rylan Clark-Neal has posted a quote hinting at “people taking advantage” of his kind nature. The TV star and BBC Radio 2 presenter took a five-month break from his work duties after splitting from his husband of six years, Dan Neal.

The 32-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to share the cryptic message in view of his 1.4 million followers.

It is unclear what the TV personality was referencing and the message was posted without any further comment.

The quote read: “What’s wrong with being too nice?

“People will always try to take advantage of it until you aren’t nice at all.”

Earlier this month, the star returned to work after a lengthy break from the spotlight.

It comes after heartbroken Rylan decided to take a step back from his career after he confirmed he and Dan had parted ways in June.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage,” he said in a statement at the time.

Rylan added that he was taking time away from work because he was “not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help”.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to say thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time,” Rylan’s statement added.

Last week, he joined Ronan Keating on The One Show announcing that he was “excited” to be back at work.

He’d previously returned to his Radio 2 show and also social media.

Taking to the picture-sharing site yesterday, Rylan posed with his new television “wife” Janette Manrara.
