Sara Davies, 37, has shared an insight into her Strictly Come Dancing co-star Adam Peaty’s struggles after his passionate Argentine Tango with Katya Jones, 32, sparked romance rumours. The Dragons’ Den star claimed her friend’s “personal life has been a nightmare this past week”, after viewers claimed it looked like he and Katya “almost kissed” at the end of their routine.

Following the intimate moment, Olympian Adam’s girlfriend Eirianedd Munro reacted on her TikTok page.

The 23-year-old pretended to cry as she wrote that her boyfriend “almost kissed” his dance partner.

The caption read: “Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman on live TV.”

She then whipped her head back as she pretended to scream while the words, “Finding out 10 million people also watched it live”, played across the video.

Sara, who is competing on Strictly alongside her partner Aljaz Skorjanec, admitted she “feels so bad” for Adam due to the rumours.

Addressing the speculation, Sara said: “I feel so bad for him because his personal life has been a nightmare this past week and everyone is talking about it when all he’s tried to do is give his all into dancing with Katya, which I can appreciate because that’s what I’m trying to do as well.

“I hope it hasn’t put him off doing that again because the Argentine Tango that he did absolutely calls for that.”

The businesswoman went on to share her concerns that Adam may start holding back in his performances following the incident.

She added to MailOnline: “I have become really close to Adam he’s one of my best friends through this process and I think if he was to do a dance and know he’s held back and that’s what cost him his place in the competition he would be so annoyed with himself.

“I can see him being in real mental turmoil over this.”

Sara also revealed Adam and Katya’s steamy performance has inspired her while rehearsing her Rumba, explaining: “The feedback I got in week one was I held back, and I needed to give it my all and put it all into my performance. So, every week that’s what I’ve done, I’ve put it all into my dance.

“I’m going to have to do it this weekend with the Rumba, which is what Adam did at the weekend.”

Adam hit back at the kiss claims in a Twitter post on Sunday.

Alongside a video of himself and Katya on the dance floor, he wrote: “We go again, thank you so much for all your support! Such a relief!

“To everyone who sees what they want to see, your comments have real life consequences.

“I will not be lowered or overcome by your gossip. Protect your energy.”

In an interview on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this week, Adam and Katya insisted they were just “acting” during the routine.

He said: “It’s being believable, isn’t it?

“You don’t want to do a dance like that and not do it justice because you haven’t switched on right at the end.

“So it’s being believable, and that’s what I think some people get carried away with.

“But, hey ho, that’s life, isn’t it?”
