It might be pouring with rain across much of the UK, but Princess Diana's niece Lady Eliza Spencer is soaking up the warm weather in Southern France.

The 28 year old sunbathed topless lying facedown on a beach towel during her day on the sand.

Lady Eliza, daughter of Diana's brother Charles Spencer and his former model wife Victoria Aitken, looked stunning as she showed off her bronzed physique while glancing coyly at the camera.

"Happiest by the sea," she captioned the idyllic snap in which she also tagged her boyfriend Channing Millerd, proving he had joined her on the trip too.

Her snap commanded the attention of her older sister Lady Kitty Spencer, who commented: "Most beautiful picture," while her twin sister Lady Amelia Spencer left several heart eye emojis.

Eliza isn't the most frequent of Instagram users. However, early last month, she paid a gushing birthday tribute to her boyfriend Channing with a loved-up snap.

Earlier this year, Eliza and twin sister Amelia reflected on their late aunt Princess Diana as they covered the March issue of Tatler magazine.

The pair were only five when Diana was tragically killed in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

Prince William and Prince Harry's cousins admitted they had no idea of Diana's impact on the world until after her death, as they were brought up in South Africa.

Lady Eliza said: "Growing up in South Africa, I really had very little idea of how significant she was in the world until I was much older.

"She always made an effort to connect with us as children and had a talent for reading children's hearts."

She went on to recall how they were once approached by a photographer while taking a stroll on Noordhoek, a beach in Cape Town, with their dad's sister.

"Obviously, it could have been quite terrifying for us, being so young and not understanding what was happening.

"But she turned it into a game of who could get back to the car first. It was amazing how she protected us in a way that made us feel safe and not frightened."
