Princess Eugenie discusses ‘joy and love’ her son August has brought her in handwritten letter

Princess Eugenie has sent an adorable handwritten letter to a royal fan to discuss the "joy and love" that her son August has brought to her.

The 31 year old gave birth to her first child with husband Jack Brooksbank in February, two years after their stunning wedding.

In the gorgeous note, which was sent before the sad passing of her grandfather Prince Philip last week, Eugenie wrote: "Thank you so much for thinking of us and celebrating the birth of our beautiful boy, August.

"Words can't express the joy and love we feel. With our very best Eugenie and Jack."

The note also included the photograph of Eugenie, Jack and August which was posted on Instagram when they revealed August to the world just weeks after his birth.

The Queen's granddaughter shared the photo, along with two others, of herself and husband Jack, 35, posing with their bundle of joy.

As she posted the snaps on Instagram, Eugenie wrote: "We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.." followed by a series of blue heart emojis.


The first time mum then shared her thanks to fans for their well wishes after she announced the birth of her son.

Princess Eugenie continued: "Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.⁣"

The Princess then revealed the adorable family photos, which show her husband Jack cradling their newborn son, were taken by her midwife as she gave her thanks to the medical professionals who helped deliver her son.

She said: "By our wonderful midwife. Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy."

More recently, she shared an adorable new photo of August whilst marking her first Mother's Day last month.

The picture showed Princess Eugenie's bundle of joy dressed in a white knitted jumper with a matching beanie on his head alongside a pair of whale-themed trousers and some fluffy bunny slippers to keep his feet warm.

Resting on a similar knitted blanket, the at-the-time one month old turned his head away from the camera as he lay in a field of bright yellow daffodils.

His mum shared a second photo in celebration of her own mother Sarah Ferguson.

In the caption, the royal said: "I'm so excited to be August's mum and as you can see I'm enjoying my first Mother’s Day. ⁣ I'm also celebrating my beautiful Mumma with this picture of us from March 1990. You’ve taught me so much. ⁣Happy Mother’s Day to all," alongside a bouquet of flowers emoji.
