Countdown favourite Rachel Riley has vowed to be on the Channel 4 show “forever” following reports of a “feud” with new host former Weakest Link star Anne Robinson.

Tensions between Rachel, 35, Susie Dent and Anne are said to have been rising since the former Weakest Link host stepped in to host Countdown earlier this year.

Things between Rachel and Anne were said to have reached boiling point last month when Rachel reportedly threatened to quit the show.

another row reportedly 77 year old Anne "switch off" Rachel's microphone while filming as she was being "too loud" while chatting with other contestants.

Despite the claims, Rachel has made it clear she plans to be the last woman standing on the hit show.

She told the Daily Mail: “This will be my 13th year — and I've apparently been telling everyone that I want to beat Carol Vorderman's record of 26 years.

“I don't remember saying that, but why wouldn't I want to beat it? Being on Countdown is the best job in the world, and I hope I'm there forever.”

Last month, a source said Rachel had reached her limit when it came to her alleged clashes with Anne.

The source said: “Rachel and Anne had clashed for some time and for Rachel, enough is enough.

"She has moaned about Anne a number of times and even said she would consider walking away from Countdown if the issues weren’t sorted."

However, Anne reportedly praised her Countdown co-star when grilled by Rachel Johnson about the alleged backstage bust-up later that month.

As reported by MailOnline, Anne said of Rachel and Susie: "They're brilliant – both of them actually. Every time I'm astonished how she [Rachel] does that adding up and subtracting – just seconds, absolutely seconds, amazing.

"I hope I'm always described as difficult, awkward, tricky, impatient, menopausal, any sort of pejorative, grumpy."

When she was asked if she wanted to be described as b***hy, Anne reportedly said: "Not particularly – hard to please."
