A new Lifetime movie, in which Reba McEntire reunites with “Reba” castmate Melissa Peterman, is set to release later this year.
McEntire is also the executive producer of this made-for-TV film, titled Reba McEntire’s The Hammer.
The country music superstar and her “Reba” sitcom co-star will be starring as sisters who find themselves entangled in a death investigation.
In the film inspired by the true story of traveling Nevada circuit judge Kim Wanker, McEntire will play the role of Kim Wheeler, “an outspoken, firecracker lawyer who is appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada, and is one of the few traveling judges left in America.”
The Lifetime synopsis describes Wheeler as one “who hands down justice unlike anyone else”.
“With gavel in hand, she lays down the law with a no-nonsense brand of justice, that quickly earns her the nickname ‘The Hammer,'” it added.
In 2021, McEntire starred in and executive produced the film, Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune, which marked her debut collaboration with Lifetime.
