This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford, 61, took to Instagram to reveal how she felt about starting week three of the NHS exercise initiative, Couch to 5K. In a short clip, the ITV favourite host revealed she was embarking on the third week of the programme which would see her running for two minutes at a time, something the star determinedly said that she would “push through”.

I’m going to push through

Addressing her one million followers in a candid video, the TV host confessed that she was feeling slightly worried about this week’s run.

With her blonde hair swept up into a ponytail and wearing a black V-neck T-shirt and matching jacket, the star looked like a professional runner.

“Afternoon, it’s Saturday afternoon and I’m just about to go out for my run- well I’m out,” she said enthusiastically.

Revealing why she hadn’t been running earlier in the day, the star said: “”It was raining all morning and I was like ‘I don’t want to run in the rain, please stop.’

“It’s miserable, it’s cold, windy but it has stopped raining.”

The wife of ITV host Eamonn Holmes, 61, confessed she was “nervous” about embarking on the third week of the running app.

She said: “So I’m about to start week 3 which means my runs increase from a minute and a half to two minutes, so I’m a bit nervous.”

“It sounds like nothing when you say it, two minutes, but gosh, I found a minute and a half quite difficult but listen, I did that so I’m going to push through and hope I can do the two minutes as well,” she added.

The star ended the short clip saying: “If you’re running today have a good run, keep going everybody.”

An hour later the ITV presenter posted a follow-up, post-run video, which featured her looking ever so slightly dishevelled.

With rosy cheeks, Ruth confirmed she had completed her run.

“Did it, sweaty, and a bit of rain,” she said pointing to her hair.

However, the broadcaster went on to brand the programme “sneaky” as she had ended up running for longer than she anticipated.

“That’s sneaky because I thought I was doing two minute runs and they threw in three minutes, in fact they threw in two three minutes,” she said.

However, the star confirmed she had managed to complete the challenge: “But I did them, felt so long,” she added proudly.

The ITV favourite went on to reveal her run was made harder by the elements as she was “running into the wind” at some points.

Ruth went on to thank comedian Sarah Millican for the encouragement during her run and tagged her in the caption of the short video.

“Sarah, thank you for keeping me going,” she continued.

The star joked: “So I’m going in now, Sarah told me to have a snack, is chips alright Sarah?” she said grinning.

“Good luck everybody,” she added before signing off.
