Ruth Langsford, 62, was unable to attend the NTAs on Thursday evening despite two of the broadcaster’s shows including This Morning and Loose Women being nominated for an award. Ruth is a regular at the star-studded event alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes, 62.
Ruth, unfortunately, had a clash in her schedule as she was presenting QVC and was unable to make an appearance at the award ceremony.
Taking to Instagram stories on Thursday, she shared a photo of herself travelling to the QVC studios.
She captioned the photo: “QVC bound,” before following it up with a snap of herself in the studio, writing: “See you at 7pm.”
Eamonn was also not in attendance at the NTAs reportedly because of his recent vital back surgery.

The broadcaster has suffered from long-term difficulties, previously telling of his battle with chronic back pain after a dislocated pelvis led to three slipped discs.
In his Express column, he said: “It’s an operation that carries a 20 per cent risk of going wrong, but such is the pain and restrictions that I have been suffering for the past 18 months, I’ve decided it is a risk I am willing to take.
“In fact, it’s a risk I want to take because, at this moment in time, nothing could seem worse than the constant pain that runs through my lower back and legs.’
He said that he “prays that God will guide [his] surgeon’s hand this week’ to help him get back to the ‘man he used to be”.
Ruth’s colleagues, however, scooped the coveted prize on the big night, when This Morning picked up the prize for the Best Daytime Show award.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were met with a smattering of boos and cheers from the crowds when the pair celebrated their win.
And the booing didn’t go unnoticed by fans at home, with some even thinking ITV had tried to drown out the heckles.
Twitter user @ameliabailey_ commented: “Just me or did it sound like the audience were booing Phil and Holly? #NTAs.”

Scott Bryan wrote: “A source at the ceremony says that there were some boos in the room when This Morning won an #NTAs, but boos stopped during the speech.”
While Amelia tweeted: “Just me or did it sound like the audience were booing Phil and Holly?”
“Who thinks that the boo’s for Holly & Phil were covered over?” Ricky Scarff pointed out.
Taking to the stage, Phillip began: “Please don’t ever think we get complacent. Please don’t ever think we take this for granted. This means so much to us every year. Especially, this year.
“We have the most amazing team and I have the best friend. All our team are up there.”
Holly commented: “This award means everything because it is voted by you.
“This Morning has a very special relationship with you. You make our show for us. You really do.
“All of these guys on the stage here. Alison [Hammond], Dermot [O’Leary], Rochelle [Humes], and Vernon [Kay]. Josie [Gibson]… the whole team are here. Everybody is a part of this. The whole show.”
The National Television Awards is available to watch on the ITV Hub.
