Rylan Clark-Neal has liked a tweet about himself "smiling again" after it was reported that he’s set to divorce his husband Dan Neal.

Back in June the Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two presenter released a statement confirming his marriage had broken down, but the couple were said to be working on salvaging their relationship and Dan was spotted at their Essex home in August.

But last week reports emerged that things were over for good between them, with Rylan then also taking to Twitter at the weekend to like a tweet about himself “smiling again”, being “up on his feet” and having “strength”.

The 32 year old liked the tweet from a fan which they posted alongside a series of pictures taken a month apart.

In the one picture Rylan looks serious as he steps out in London, whereas the other sees the star out on Friday night laughing and drinking with friends.

The full tweet read: “@Rylan it took all the strength I had but I crawled up on my feet again. Only a month between these photos but so good to see you smiling again!! Xxx”.

Rylan’s statement about his marriage came after weeks of speculation that Rylan and Dan were facing trouble following his absence from his BBC Radio 2 show and missing his hosting duties for May’s Eurovision Song Contest.

He and Dan tied the knot in 2015 and Dan is dad to a 20 year old son called Cameron. The couple met when Dan was a contestant on Big Brother in 2013.

Rylan’s statement read: "Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out as the way it is being reported is unfair.

"I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

He continued: “I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

A few days later the former X Factor contestant then took to Instagram thank his fans for the “love and kindness” shown to himself and husband Dan.

He wrote: “I just wanted to write a message to thank you for all the love and kindness you have shown us,” he penned.

He continued: “We are currently prioritising our mental health and looking after the ones around us we love most.

“I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course. Thank you for being patient with me. X.”
