Yesterday, Bancroft star Sarah Parish was airlifted home after the accident caused her to break her ribs and fracture her spine. The 53-year-old took to Instagram to tell fans her husband James Murray had to organise a private flight for her to get home safely following the ordeal.

In view of her 62,000 followers, she said her injuries were caused by a “nasty fall” on a “very hard surface”.

The actress shared a selfie from her hospital bed, adding: “At the local Turkish hospital.

“FFS. Life really does appear to be taking a massive dump on my head right now.”

In her most recent post, Sarah shared a snap of her being airlifted home from Turkey.

She wrote: “I’m home. Thank you @thejimmurray for getting me here and sorting everything #Hero.”

Many of Sarah’s 62,000 followers flocked to her post to comment.

Tamzin Outhwaite wrote: “I want to squeeze you but I know it will hurt.

“You poor thing. Sending love. Can’t believe it.”

Sarah Parish injures her leg in sledging accident

Lisa Faulkner commented: “Honey I can’t believe it. Just hope you are ok. Lots of love.”

Jenni Falconer added: “Oh noooooo. Sending lots of love and get well wishes.”(sic)

Sarah’s colleague Sam Robson also suffered an injury after falling from a horse this week.

A post from her and James’ charity page saw the pair respectively in hospital following their accidents.

“Sarah had a nasty fall whilst on a family holiday last week and Sam had a horse riding accident this morning.

“Both are in good spirits but very sore and we wish them a speedy recovery.”

Nathanial Curtis added: “Oh god no! Wishing you a speedy recovery xx.”

Ahead of her accident, Sarah had been giving fans an insight into her family holiday with James and their children Ella-Jayne and Nell.

In various snaps, she showed her family wakeboarding and surfing during fun in the sea.

Sarah also shared pictures of herself enjoying the sun and a video of her idyllic surroundings.
