Shakira's ex Gerard Piqué, 35, 'dating student, 23, who works for him'

Shakira’s ex Gerard Piqué is reportedly in a relationship with a student who works for him.

The singer, 45, and footballer, 35, announced in June that they had gone their separate ways after 11 years and two children together.

After meeting in 2010 as the singer filmed the music video for Waka Waka, the pair fell in love and had sons Milan, nine, and seven-year-old Sasha.

However they issued a joint statement in June confirming they had ended their relationship, stating that their children remained their ‘highest priority.’

It’s been a difficult few months for Hips Don’t Lie icon Shakira, as she also faces a court battle with a potential eight-year prison sentence for alleged tax fraud, accusations which the star has vehemently denied.

Now it appears there is more bad news for the mum-of-two, with reports her ex has moved on with a young woman who works for him.

According to The Sun, the Barcelona star has been dating 23-year-old PR student Clara ‘for months’, with the pair believed to have met while she worked at his production company Kosmos.

A source told the outlet: ‘Gerard and Clara have been seeing each other for months.

‘She is a student who also works for him in his office, organising events.’

They went on to say that the footballer and student 12 years his junior have been ‘keeping quiet about their relationship but those around them all know what is happening.’

Not only that, but people have been ‘helping him keep the romance hush-hush,’ including by wiping Clara’s social media accounts ‘so people can’t find photos of her.’

The source added that this action alone has Gerard’s friends thinking he is ‘quite serious about being with her.’

Grammy-winner Shakira has not spoken publicly about the split apart from the joint statement the pair issued in June, but is reported to be considering a move to Florida with her two sons.

It comes as she faces allegations of tax fraud in Spain, with prosecutors calling for her to serve an eight-year prison sentence and a fine of €23million (£19.3million) after allegedly becoming involved in a €14.5m (£12.1m) tax fraud case.

The star is accused of failing to pay taxes in Spain between 2012 and 2014, however Shakira argues she did not live in the country during this period.

Prosecutors have accused her of ‘hiding’ her income by using tax havens, which Shakira flatly denies; she is seeking a full acquittal of all offences.

A representative for the singer recently confirmed to Metro.co.uk that they will fight to prove her innocence, insisted she has ‘always abided by the law.’

They said in a statement: ‘Shakira has always cooperated and abided by the law, demonstrating impeccable conduct as an individual and a taxpayer, and faithfully following the counsel of PriceWaterhouse Coopers, a prestigious and globally recognized tax firm.

‘Unfortunately, the Spanish Tax Office, which loses one out of every two lawsuits with its taxpayers, continues to violate her rights and pursue yet another baseless case.

‘Shakira is confident that her innocence will be proven by the end of the judicial process.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to reps for Shakira and Gerard for comment.
