After simply posting ‘monkeypox’ on his Twitter feed and Instagram Story, the ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy)’ hitmaker clarifies that he doesn’t catch the disease.
AceShowbiz –Soulja Boy has unintentionally led his fans to believe that he caught monkeypox. The rapper has been forced to clarify his social media posts after his tweet and Instagram Story appeared to hint that he had it.
On Monday, August 8, the star, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, simply posted, “monkeypox” on his Twitter feed and Instagram Story. Reacting to his tweet, one person wrote, “First rapper wit money pox.” Another replied to him, “Lol. You weren’t the first person to get it. Sit yo a** down.”
Soulja later returned to his Story to issue a denial. “If anybody took my post wrong, no I do not have the monkeypox,” he said to his followers in a video. Assuring that he’s “all good,” he explained that he just made the posts that he did due to state of emergencies being declared and he simply wanted to post about this topic.
Soulja later went on to comment, “My bad,” on The Shade Room’s Instagram post about his denial.
The health concerns aside, Soulja recently was involved in an altercation with YouTube star Charleston White. After the controversial star sprayed mace on the rapper during their encounter in Miami last month, he had a social media back-and-forth with Charleston.
Charleston threatened to press criminal charges against Soulja and his associate Flo Malcom, claiming that he feared for his life after the two men threatened his life. “We got video of Soulja Boy threatening to have people killed,” so he said while contacting his publicist by phone.
Soulja later responded to Charleston’s claims. Labeling the controversial motivational speaker a rat, the “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” hitmaker shared The Shade Room’s post about Charleston’s claims and added rat emojis and a face with tears of joy emoji.
He also denied that he ever threatened Charleston. “There’s no way he can press charges. He the one [who] started shooting pepper spray,” he told XXL in a statement. “Nobody threatened him, just laughed at him on Live.”
