St. Vincent teamed up with The Roots to cover Portishead‘s 1994 track “Glory Box” on a recent episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The Grammy-award-winning singer appeared on the show ahead of her March 9th performance at the Love Rocks NYC benefit for God’s Love We Deliver.
“Glory Box” was the third single off of Portishead’s 1994 breakout album Dummy. St. Vincent packs the cover with emotion, as she sings the chorus, “Give me a reason to love you / Give me a reason to be a woman / I just wanna be a woman”.
St. Vincent’s most recent album was her sixth studio album, Daddy’s Home, which came out in 2021. The album included the singles “Pay Your Way in Pain,” “The Melting of the Sun,” and “Daddy’s Home.”
