Stacey Solomon lands huge new TV show as she partners with Hollywood A-lister

Stacey Solomon has bagged an incredible job fronting a brand new home improvement series helmed by Reese Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine.

The ginormous showbiz news comes off the back of Stacey's incredible success and popularity presenting the BBC home organisation series Sort Your Life Out.

The new programme is called Bricking It, and will see 33 year old Stacey trying her hand at various new DIY projects in a bid to help people who have suffered from bad builders and shoddy jobs.

Sharing the news on her Instagram stories, Stacey, who recently shared the gender of her unborn baby, whom many fans thought they'd already guessed was a girl, could barely contain her excitement over the project.

"For a little while I've been talking to Channel 4 and a production company called Hello Sunshine which was founded by Reese Witherspoon," she began with a giant smile. "And she created it to champion women in film and TV, she's just incredible at building women up and putting them at the forefront.

"They asked me if I wanted to make a show with them, and I was like, 'Hell yeah, I'll make a show with Reese Witherspoon's production company,' they're words I never thought I'd say.

"So, in the summer we're gonna start filming a show called Bricking It. It's basically gonna be a show where we go in and help people who have been done over by bad builders, run out of funding, and can't finish their projects. And we're gonna help them get to where they need to be.

"I get to learn new skills along the way," the mum-of-five continued. "So I'm gonna learn things that I have always wanted to do but I'm not confident with – like roofing, bricklaying, proper DIY.

"I can't wait. I'm so excited, and I'm just so happy that I finally get to share it," the star added with a grin, as she wrote over the top of her video: "I am so so so excited. After maternity leave, I'll be starting this."

As the pregnant Loose Women star announced her exciting new project with fans, The Sun also reported that a source claimed Hello Sunshine was "adamant" they get Stacey on board.

“This is huge news for Stacey and proof of her growing status in the TV world," the source said. “To be on Reese’s radar is mightily impressive and her company was adamant they wanted Stacey to front the new show.

“This could lead to even bigger jobs across the pond if she impresses, so Stacey is chuffed to be on board.”

Speaking about her new show in a press release, Stacey also said: “From an early age, my dad taught me DIY and the importance of fixing things yourself where you can.

“I still find it so satisfying to build or repair around the house and it saves loads of money. I am beyond excited to work with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine on their first ever UK project.

“They are all about empowering women, and what could be more empowering than a power tool.

“It’s a dream come true to share my DIY hacks with everyone at home," the Tap to Tidy author added.
