Stacey Solomon opens up on baby Roses tongue tie struggle as she returns to Loose Women

Stacey Solomon revealed the struggles of tongue tie her baby daughter Rose has been dealing with on Loose Women Friday during her return to the show for a candid discussion.

The 32 year old brought along her four month old daughter as she reunited with fellow panellists Nadia Sawalha, Judi Love and Kaye Adams and spoke about the issue with the women as she opened about motherhood the fourth time round.

“I checked Rose for tongue tie the minute she was born. They diagnosed her with tongue tie straight away and on day three or day four, I got it cut and the instant relief,” Stacey said.

She uncovered that her two year old son Rex had suffered with tongue tie — where tissue connecting a baby’s tongue to the bottom of their mouth is shorter than usual — causing her to be cautious of her youngest child being born with the same condition.

"Ultimately, I just think some people in the medical profession don't want to recognise it because they then have to put budget towards it,” the presenter continued.

“But I feel like genuinely, if people have the opportunity to know their baby has tongue tie, they should.”

Stacey received praise online for speaking up about tongue tie, with viewers commenting on Twitter about the informative and encouraging segment afterwards.

"#LooseWomen my third daughter had a posterior tongue-tie at birth. Feeding was so painful. I knew about #tonguetie but had never heard of the posterior version,” a user wrote.

“Mothers should be more supported to help with feeding. Thanks for raising awareness."

“Don’t normally watch #LooseWomen but it’s good to see @StaceySolomon back she’s glowing," a second person said.

Stacey appeared on Loose Women one other time before her return with baby Rose on Friday, showing up with her daughter and fiancé Joe Swash in a festive episode last year as the pair discussed possible plans to get married this summer.

"Yes, we would love… if all goes well..,because Covid's still massive and you never know what’s around the corner, but we would love to get married in July next year, we really would," the mum-of-four said at the time.

Speaking about caring for baby Rose, she admitted she was tired but grateful.

“She sleeps like a new-born – they're up all night really aren’t they? But she is good. She’s content, which is nice. She’s amazing, she’s really lovely. I can’t stop staring at her."
