TV star Stacey Solomon is known as one of the most down to earth personalities on television and she has reinforced that in a new chat.
The mum of four, who married Joe Swashin a stunning ceremony earlier this year, refuses to allow pictures of her to be airbrushed or filtered.
Explaining why, she told Psychologies magazine: “In my head I’ve always thought I was really pretty, so it doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks does it? Maybe that sounds big headed, but I do think I’m really pretty!”
And the Loose Women host confessed to being bemused by people’s attitudes to her honesty.
She added: “I don’t get why it’s shocking to hear someone say that. It’s not that I’m showing off; it’s more that I don’t see anything wrong with me. I just look like what I look like.
“I’ve always gone with what I feel in the mirror, no one can make me feel a particular way. I decide how I want to feel.”
Reinforcing her point, the former I’m a Celeb alum related an anecdote about her hen party. The stunning star, 33, celebrated her last days of freedom with friends on a sun-soaked getaway in Greece and, showing her sense of humour, she even allowed her friends to dress her as a pickle as she travelled through Gatwick.
She posted regular updates to Instagram during the do and told fans she “never felt so special”.
But what set her posts aside from the usual celebrity offerings was that she consciously posted all the less flattering pictures alongside the far more forgiving ones.
She told the magazine: “I feel a sense of responsibility to show what I actually look like.”
There's no doubting that Joe agrees with his wife's self-analysis. The actor, who shares Rex, three, and one year old daughter Rose with Stacey, was asked about the nuptials while chatting on Loose Women last fortnight.
He gushed: "I felt so lucky that day. I was marrying the most amazing woman and I look back and it's been a journey. I felt so blessed on the day."
Stacey and Joe became friends after meeting out in Australia while they were both filming for I'm A Celebrity and then went on to start dating.
The couple welcomed two children together and moved into dream Essex mansion, dubbed Pickle Cottage, last year.
After Joe proposed during the festive period, the pair finally tied the knot in July at their gorgeous family home with their four sons as Joe's best men and their baby daughter Rose as flower girl.
