Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon, 31, has taken to Instagram to reveal that she’s been experiencing “intrusive thoughts” as she took to crafting to help calm her mind. The influencer has previously been open with her experience of struggling with anxiety and today fashioned a sweet, DIY-style rose for her unborn daughter as a way of focusing her mind on the project, rather than her negative thoughts.

It made me concentrate on how to hide the ugly wires instead of worrying about my intrusive thoughts

After wishing her 4.6 million followers good morning from the garden of Pickle Cottage, the Tap to Tidy star went on to give them a pregnancy update.

Revealing that she’d spent the morning catching up on work, the ITV star told how planning her maternity leave had left her tummy feeling “a little funny.”

Stacey penned: “I can’t believe she will be here in just a couple of months and it made me start to panic a bit… even just writing it on here”.

The flame-haired star went on to share sweet videos of herself playing with Rex, her two-year-old with fiance Joe Swash, which she confessed left her feeling emotional.

She wrote: “Is it me or does this age just feel like so much happens too quickly, I must be having a hormone surge or something today.”

Following the recent spout of bad weather, the mother-of-three shared clips of herself doing DIY inside, ahead of the birth of her daughter.

Fashioning a rose inside a bell jar in the style of Beauty and The Beast, Stacey documented the process for her followers to copy.

She went on to say that she had planned on making one for her daughter ever since she found out that she was expecting a girl, before adding that crafting helped to take her “mind away for a minute.”

Capturing herself glueing down a pale pink rose entwined with fairy lights, Stacey told how she found crafting to be beneficial for her mental health.

She wrote: “It’s just a little something but it really made me smile and made me concentrate on how to hide the ugly wires instead of worrying about my intrusive thoughts.”

In the next story, Stacey proudly showed off the finished result of her project while penning an emotional message to her “darling daughter”.

Referencing the rose, she wrote: “Just a little something from me to you.

“May it always remind you of mummy and how excited we all are to meet you.”

The star signed off with her signature “love you to the moon and back”.

This isn’t the first time the star has candidly discussed her mental health, as last year Stacey told Grazia how anxiety has impacted her since she was a child.

She said: “I really struggle with my anxiety, I have done since I was a child.

“When I look back into it, I don’t know what happened to make me the way I am, but it’s definitely affected my anxiety levels, and I’ve spent most of my life looking for coping mechanisms.”

She went on to admit that she’d tried meditation in an attempt to help clear her mind, but struggled with the approach.

“The minute I sit still for five seconds is the minute every thought I’ve been worrying about, comes back into my head. And I just cannot do it.

“So I’ve had to find things that focus my mind on the task at hand, and that’s my meditation,” she explained, adding: “Rather than trying to clear my mind and think nothing, I have to do something productive that takes a lot of energy off my mind.”
