Strictly’s Janette Manrara gives update on C-section after sparking concerns

Janette Manrara gives update on her c-section recovery

Janette Manrara has revealed her recovery is “going really, really well” following the birth of her daughter Lyra Rose on July 28.

The dancer had to undergo a C-section in order to bring her daughter safely into world but was left with some discomfort including sudden pains, soreness and a rash on her stomach.

In a video shared this afternoon, the 39-year-old seemed in higher spirits as she told fans she was feeling much better and that her rash had finally gone.

The Strictly: It Takes Two host is currently enjoying quality time with her long-distance parents, who are bonding with Lyra for the first time.

“It’s been a really, really nice few days with my mum and dad here,” she spilled.

“Just watching them falling in love with Lyra and getting to meet her has been so special.

“And for her to kind of get to know her grandparents, they live so far away, so we’re soaking in every second of their time here.”

She continued: “Plus Aljaz and I are getting a little rest because we’re not cooking or cleaning because they’re doing it all!

“And we get a little bit of extra sleep too,” she added.

Janette went on to gush about the “amazing” pants she recommends to new mums to support the incision area.

“Mama Janette is doing good and Lyra is doing great,” she added while laying on a bed with her newborn.

One week after her birth, Janette sparked concern as she listed the discomfort she had been feeling post C-section.

She said at the time: “Fan on my stomach rash, pain in my incision, swollen breast, exhaustion, and wanting more cuddles with Lyra but have to take it slow for recovery….

“Other than that, we’re all good! Sending love to all first-time parents dealing with new adventures too.”

Many of her 530,000 followers flocked to her post urging her to seek help as soon as possible, but they will now be pleased to do that she is on the mend.

Janette will be back on screens later this year to host Strictly: It Takes Two alongside new host Fleur East.

All 14 Strictly Come Dancing contestants have now been unveiled, see full line-up here.

A date for the series is yet to be revealed.
