The 1975 have been announced as official ambassadors for Record Store Day 2023.
The indie rockers are partnering with the annual celebration of independent music stores as it gears up to return for a 17th year.
“We are so excited to announce this year’s #RSD23 official UK Ambassadors: @the1975. The long awaited ‘I Like It When You Sleep…’ Live With The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra will be released on 22nd April, exclusively for indie record shops!” the organizers tweeted.
As part of the deal, the Manchester band will release a new live album featuring their performance with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for a special Radio 1 Live Lounge Symphony in September 2016.
The double LP features track favorites from the band’s early career, including “Somebody Else,” “Chocolate” and “The Sound.”
Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday every April and every Black Friday in November to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store.”
