The 27-year-old account executive also shuts down speculations about him parting ways with his then-fiancee due to their friends, including his fellow season 18 castmates.
AceShowbiz –Nayte Olukoya has shut down infidelity allegations leveled at him. When addressing his split from Michelle Young, “The Bachelorette” alum made it clear that he “didn’t cheat” on her.
“Not every breakup needs to have someone to blame… Yes, the pressures were insane for both of us,” the 27-year-old wrote in an Instagram Story post shared on Saturday, June 25. “We tried. It didn’t work. We’re sad about it. We all grieve differently.”
Noting that he “truly believed Michelle was my person,” Nayte called the hate he’s received online since their breakup announcement “hurtful during a difficult time.” He added, “Yes, many of you seem to paint me as a red flag/ f–k boy. Maybe it’s the piercings and tattoos? Who knows… But I’m actually a decent guy, and I only want to continue getting better. As we should all want for ourselves.”
Nayte went on to deny speculations about him splitting from his fiancee due to their friends, including his fellow season 18 castmates. “Yes, I like to hang out with my guys. As she likes to hang out with her girls. Nothing wrong with that. If anything, super healthy,” he shared. “We are social people. Not everyone who goes to bars are cheaters.”
“My name is Babatunde Olufemi Robert Nathaneil Olukoya, and I will never live my life based on how others think I should live it. Period,” he concluded his post. “For kind people, sending kind things, and respecting both Michelle and I. THANK YOU.”
Nayte and Michelle confirmed their separation on their respective Instagram accounts on June 17. “To those who have supported Nayte and I, including Bachelor Nation, I know I speak for the both of us when saying having been in the public eye has not been easy,” Michelle wrote in her post. “I’m struggling to say that Nayte and I will be going our separate ways but I stand with him in knowing that heaviness that is present in both of our hearts as this relationship has been very real for us.”
As for Nayte, he echoed the sentiments in his own statement. “When we both started on this journey, we were looking for our Soulmates. Our forever. Our best friends,” the Senior Account Executive for Indeed.com recalled. “However, as we grow and learn, we also realize that sometimes somebody that you hold dear to your heart isn’t somebody that you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with.”
