The Repair Shop star Will Kirk announced that he had become a dad for the first time in July on Instagram, where he gave fans a glimpse of his newborn’s feet and face. The antique furniture restorer and his wife Polly celebrated their first wedding anniversary with their daughter at a restaurant last month.

In his latest post, the 37-year-old shared an adorable picture of him and his baby as he told fans about the “challenging weeks” he had faced.

The presenter commented: “My paternity leave has come to an end and it’s going to be hard to go back to work.

“My wonderful wife has been absolutely amazing as well as the help from friends and family.

“The past few weeks have been challenging but the most exciting new chapter in our lives.”

Will was every inch the doting dad in the snap as he smiled for the camera as his baby placed her hand on his chin.

The picture prompted many of his 175,000 followers to comment.

Sonnaz wrote: “Aww what a lovely photo. Can’t wait to meet your bundle of joy xxx.”

Rachel Forrester added: “Can’t wait for you to bring her to the barn!”

“I can’t wait to bring the little one to the barn to meet her extended family.”

LMH_1002 commented: “She’s adorable Will – I’m sure you’ll have real trouble trying to leave the barn without her.”

Will announced that he and Polly were expecting their first child together back in March.

The news came just months after they tied the knot at a ceremony last year after having to put it on hold during Covid-19.

A picture of the pair from their big day shows them happily walking down the aisle together as guests threw confetti over them.

The BBC star opted for a smart blue suit and brown shoes, while his bride wore a V-neck dress which featured lace detail.

Another snap shows Will giving his wife a kiss as they stood in the middle of a idyllic surroundings.

He wrote: “The best day of my life. Thank you to all who attended and to those that helped to make it happen.”

In 2020, the presenter told Lorraine Kelly that the pair were forced to postpone their wedding due to Covid-19.

When asked how lockdown had been for him, he told the host: “I’ve been putting up lots of shelves, the lovely fiancée has been keeping me very busy!

“We were supposed to be getting married in August and unfortunately that didn’t happen, so we’re going to get married next year. Yes, I’ve been kept busy!”

The Repair Shop continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
