The Tragically Hip To Release Deluxe Edition Of ‘Road Apples’ For 30th Anniversary

The Tragically Hip have announced the release of a deluxe box-set of their sophomore album, “Road Apples” in honor of its 30th anniversary this year.

“Carefully crafted with input from each living member of the band,” the forthcoming collection will feature an album of previously unreleased demos, outtakes, alternative versions of certain tracks, and a live recording of their set at The Roxy Los Angeles on May 3, 1991, among other fan favorites.

The album, which earned the band their very first No. 1 hit, has been newly remastered in 2021 by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in Nashville.

The box-set will also include a 6-page booklet of essays from Bruce Dickinson (who initially signed them to MCA Records in the U.S.) and producer/engineer, Mark Vreeken, both of whom proved instrumental in the band’s career.

In addition to further commentary from living members of the band, fans can also expect from the collection a series of never-before-seen photos from Kingsway Studio recording sessions, where the band originally recorded the album.

A stripped-down version of the song “Fiddler’s Green” has been released in anticipation of the release of the box-set on October 15, pre-order of which is available now.
