The Who’s Pete Townshend Wants To Make Another Album

The Who‘s Pete Townshend has revealed that he is ready to make another album with the band post-lockdown.

Speaking to Uncut, Townshend said he has been working on new music during the lockdown and “wants to make another” record.

“Will there be another Who album? I don’t know,” Townshend said in the new interview. “It was great to have an album out there, something that the fans liked, and I was really proud of it. But far too much money was spent making it. It went out of control completely and ended up costing me money. I can’t go on doing that.”

“I do want to make another one, and I probably will. It’s been on my mind a lot,” Townshend said. “There’s pages and pages of draft lyrics. If the moment comes, I’ll go in and start.”

The band released their last album WHO in 2019. It was the band’s first album in thirteen years. The album received critical acclaim and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Last month, the Who canceled their upcoming U.K. and Ireland tour due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
