Words on the street are that the now-exes went their separate ways after 13 years of marriage due to the NFL star’s decision to unretire to focus on his family.
AceShowbiz –Tom Brady has discussed his NFL career after he and Gisele Bundchen finalized their divorce. Speaking candidly on his podcast, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, who reportedly broke up with Gisele due to his decision to unretire to focus on his family, teased his plan for the upcoming NFL season.
In the Monday, November 28 episode of “Let’s Go!”, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was asked by co-host Jim Gray if he would “at least be back” next year before bringing up “the 18-game portion of that win streak.” In response, the 45-year-old athlete cracked a joke, “That’s right, that’s right. I’m on borrowed time anyway, so.”
Tom, who recently said that he has “zero” regrets about his decision to return to the NFL, later noted that he is focused on the “day-to-day, game-to-game” at the moment. He continued, “I love the sport, so I love the preparation for it. I love seeing us improve and get better. And I think there’s definitely things on the practice field that have improved.”
The comments came after Tom decided to retire, then unretire, from the NFL back in March. His marriage to Gisele subsequently unraveled, allegedly over her disappointment that he decided not to end his athletic career. It’s reported that the Brazilian beauty felt “lied to” after Tom announced he’d return to the sport.
“Gisele would never want Tom to give up his dreams and his passion for her and the kids because she knows how important football is to him,” a source close to the couple told HollywoodLife.com in September. “But he’s made promises to her that he’s broken and she’s having a very hard time navigating her emotions about this whole ordeal. They made a deal when he would retire and she feels lied to at this point.”
Tom finalized his divorce from Gisele on October 28. The former couple was able to settle the case within a few hours thanks to their “ironclad prenup” which they signed a few years ago. The pair agreed to have joint custody of their kids, 12-year-old Benjamin and 9-year-old Vivian.
