Trace Adkins Shares Video For 'Somewhere In America'

Country music singer and actor Trace Adkins recently released a music video for his song “Somewhere in America.”

Mike Stryer directed the visual and co-produced it with Andrew Rozario. The video shows Adkins visiting Mayfield, Kentucky, where a deadly EF4 tornado killed more than 50 people and displaced thousands from their homes on December 10, 2021.

Jone Nite, Hunter Phelps, Michael Hardy and Zach Crowell co-wrote “Somewhere in America,” which pays homage to the big-hearted country folks living between America’s coasts. Mickey Jack Cones and Derek George produced the track.

The video, which also features footage from a concert Adkins did on the high school football field, opens with him visiting a makeshift memorial.

“Even if only for a little while, we were able to help the folks of Mayfield smile,” Adkins said.

“Reading the names of those who lost their lives was moving,” he added. “‘Somewhere in America’ is about the heart left in this land, and the citizens of Mayfield exemplify that.”

Adkins said he hopes the people who watch the video are inspired by the resilience from the people in the area who lost everything.

“I hope everyone will see a glimpse of the goodness of the citizens of Mayfield,” he said. “They are good people who are clawing their way back from a catastrophic disaster.”
