Viral Tweet About Sex And The City Reveals Hilarious Plot Flaw

Sex and the City is one of the greatest shows of all time, and that is a scientific fact. The recently-announced reboot, amazingly titled And Just Like That — a nod to one of Carrie Bradshaw’s most famous (read: overused) lines — has set tongues wagging not least because Kim Cattrall sadly won’t be taking part. It remains to be seen what a 2021 version of the beloved dramedy would look like, but suffice to say our collective interest is piqued.

However, with the news of an SATC return came the usual discussions about who Carrie should’ve really ended up with, if anyone; why we thought her fashion was iconic when, more often than not, it bordered on ridiculous; and just how she managed to afford all of that stuff while submitting just one column a week anyway. On top of everything else, one Twitter user has pointed out a glaring flaw in the show’s narrative you won’t be able to un-see.

The grimy nature of NYC doesn't quite allow for open-toed shoes

SATC is famous for its shoes or, more accurately, the red-soled Louboutins and bedazzled Manolos most of us regular folk could never even dream of affording. In fact, it could be argued that Carrie’s true love isn’t Big, or even New York, but shoes. As she memorably told her Vogue editor, men may not actually be her forte but shoes definitely are.

However, in spite of the iconic show’s devotion to stunning footwear, as comedian Amy Miller pointed out, there’s a major issue with the SATC ladies’ shoe habit and it has nothing to do with the attached price tag. “I guess my main beef with Sex and the City is how they all wear strappy sandals around NYC and then come home and put their feet in the bed,” she pointed out. Another user piped up, noting Sarah Jessica Parker allegedly washes her feet every night before bed, and opining, “THIS is what’s missing from the show.”

The mean streets of NYC might not be the cleanest, but the SATC star has another reason for ruing the day she put on a pair of strappy sandals to run around the city in. As Parker revealed in a 2013 interview with Net-a-Porter, wearing heels all day, every day ruined her feet. “I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there…You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there,” the actress recalled (via E! News). A little surface dirt isn’t looking so bad now, is it?
