Piers Morgan, 56, has urged Prince Harry, 36, and his older brother Prince William, 39, to resolve their differences after the pair put on a united front for a ceremony in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden, on what would have been their mother Princess Diana’s 60th birthday. Harry and William smiled for cameras as they unveiled a statue of the late Princess of Wales following reports of tension between them after the former spoke out against the Royal Family in several interviews recently.

Speaking out on the duo’s reunion in his latest column, former Good Morning Britain host Piers claimed: “It’s not so hard to guess what she would have wanted most for her big birthday: peace and harmony between her sons.

“William and Harry’s feud would have broken Diana’s heart.

“She lived for those boys and showered them in constant love and affection, and she’d have been devastated to see them shower each other in vitriol and hatred these past few years.

“I’m sure she would have stopped it had she still been alive.”

However, in Diana’s absence following her tragic death, Piers urged the Dukes to “sort it out between themselves” for her sake.

He claimed that despite their smiles at the statue unveiling, Harry and William are not on good terms due to the former’s scathing interviews about the firm alongside his wife Meghan Markle.

Piers penned for the Daily Mail: “I’m assured that the division between the brothers runs very deep and very furiously.

“How could it not – given how viciously Harry and his wife Meghan have publicly trashed the Royal Family on global television this year?”

Despite Piers’ critical comments about the pair, he revealed he noticed “the first real glimmers of a possible rapprochement” from the poignant pictures of the Princes gathering around the statue today.

He concluded: “But as they stood there together today, unveiling her statue, and allowing themselves a few grins and laughs, I detected the first real glimmers of a possible rapprochement.

“And somewhere, Diana was cheering them on.”
