A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has opened up about her past regrets – and one of them is not being kinder to herself when it came to body confidence.
The blonde bombshell has admitted in the past that she was the victim of cruel body-shaming from bullies as a teenager.
It was one throwaway comment she received aged 16 which left her questioning her decision to wear a mini-skirt, as she felt her muscular legs were "out of proportion".
Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous magazine in May, Laura said: "I’ve never been stick-thin. I’ve always had curves and cellulite."
Of the comment, Laura said: "I still remember that comment clear as day," she said. "That was definitely a trigger that made my legs one of my body hang-ups."
A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton apologises after backlash over £80k budget comment
A cruel comment made by acid-tongued Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner, who compared her legs to "tree trunks" while she was competing on the show in 2011, only reinforced those insecurities.
Now, Laura has opened up in a new interview that if she got the chance to travel back in time, it would be to give her younger self some sage advice.
The star admitted: "I’ve always been conscious about my legs, so I’d go back to my 20s and tell myself: 'Who cares about cellulite?! What’s important is that you’re healthy and happy within yourself.'"
The interview also saw Laura admitting that the figure she most admires is Kate Middleton, because of how she balances being a mum, doing photography and keeping up with fashion trends effortlessly.
A Place in the Sun couple so horrified by property they refuse to even step inside
And speaking about her celebrity crushes, Laura had some rather unlikely answers.
Though she plumped for hunks Chris Hemsworth and Jake Gyllenhaal, she also didn't rule out Cars voice actor Owen Wilson, because "he looks like he's a laugh".
And the most famous person in Laura's phone is apparently It Wasn't Me rapper Shaggy.
Laura recently found herself in hot water after bringing up a guest's tight budget in an Instagram video.
The blonde bombshell said in the video: "Now if anyone knows property prices on the Costa del Sol, they will know £80,000 is a difficult budget and my house hunters are aware of that, they say that on camera.
"And we actually always say that to people, especially if you watch the show, that we give people a reality check of what they might expect to get."
But after one fan pointed out that it wasn't very nice to remark on the 'difficult' budget, Laura was forced to apologise.
"Someone sent me a message and told me I wasn’t very nice to be telling people that it’s a small budget," she said.
"So I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but I didn’t say anything that isn’t true and my house hunters aren’t at all offended."
