Adele Roberts has said her fiancée Kate Holderness is her "hero" and that they are "closer than ever" since she was diagnosed with bowel cancer.
The radio DJ was told that she had the illness last year and said she has seen a "different side" to Kate since then.
She told Hello!: "It sounds strange but it's brought us closer than ever.
"I've always loved Kate but since my diagnosis I've seen a different side to her."
Adele – who underwent surgery to remove a tumour and has had a stoma bag fitted – said Kate was her "counsellor", "mentor" and "the best nurse ever".
"She helped me when I could barely walk and had to shuffle into work at Radio 1," she said.
Chiming in, her fiancee said that she was "devastated" when Adele was diagnosed.
But she said she didn't cry because she didn't want the star to think she thought she wouldn't beat it.
"I've always been a timid person but Adele's illness has unleashed a strength in me I never knew I had," she said.
Former I'm A Celebrity camper Adele told fans in October 2021 that she had had bowel cancer.
She said at the time that her outlook was positive and that she felt lucky that it could be treated, vowing that she was going to "give it everything I've got".
Opening up to Hello!, she shared that when a doctor told her she had cancer her first question was whether she was going to die and whether it was her fault.
"I felt bad for putting Kate and my family through that, but now I know that getting cancer is nobody's fault, and that sadly it will happen to one in two of us," she said.
