As the World Turns and One Life to Live star Marnie Schulenburg has died at the age of 37, her representatives have confirmed.

The star passed away on Tuesday (May 16) following a harrowing battle with cancer.

Marnie had been suffering from stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

The news was confirmed by a representative to The Hollywood Reporter.

The soap actress passed away at a hospital in New Jersey.

Marnie has left behind her husband, actor Zack Robidas and their young daughter Coda, two.

The star got married to her husband in 2013, who starred in Succession and Sorry For Your Loss.

The TV star had been suffering from the disease since December 2019 and she was diagnosed just five months after her daughter was born.

Marnie was from Massachusetts and was best known for her role as Alison Stewart on As The World Turns.

For the role of Alison, she once received a Daytime Emmy nomination.

The star played the role from 2007 until the show was inevitably cancelled in 2010.

Ten days before Marnie passed away, she shared some sweet snaps on social media.

She captioned the post: "It wasn’t a guarantee that I was going to be home this Mother’s Day."

Talking about her daughter, she continued: "I want to be strong and beautiful for her. I want to show her how to move throughout this world with compassion, strength, vivacity, humor and joy like my Mother showed me."

Her family haven't released a statement yet following her passing.

In May 2020, she shared her diagnosis publicly and told fans how it had advanced to the stage of cancer to which there is no cure.
