Bad Bunny Is All of Us Trying to Get Over an Ex in His “Yonaguni” Music Video

Solo sushi dates, dog walking, drag racing, and yoga sessions: It’s all just a day in the life of Bad Bunny.

The Puerto Rican rapper has released his first official single following the mega success of his 2020 studio album, El Último Tour del Mundo, and taking home his first Grammy Award earlier this year. “Yonaguni” is a melancholic track laid upon a summer-ready beat that details the superstar expressing how he would do anything to be back with the one he really loves.

Like most Bad Bunny visuals, he juxtaposes his honest lyrics with eye-catching, and often humorous, visuals. The music video follows Bad Bunny completing a number of mundane tasks—pouring back wine, playing with remote control cars, getting a Pokémon-inspired tattoo, impromptu karate lessons—all while reminiscing about the love he once had.

“Yonaguni” comes after a super-successful year for the star. He was named Spotify’s top-streamed artist for 2020—landing above bona fide pop stars such as Drake, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and more—with an astounding eight billion streams. His last album, El Último Tour del Mundo, also made history as the first full Spanish-language album to top the Billboard 200 in the chart’s 64-year history.

The rapper also released an instantly sold-out shoe collaboration with Adidas earlier this spring and is set to debut his acting career with F9, Bullet Train (alongside Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock), and Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico.
