The ‘I Don’t F**k With You’ rapper, who has released his collaborative EP with Hit-Boy, previously hinted at his exit from the ‘Donda’ artist’s music label on Twitter.
AceShowbiz –Big Sean let his fans know that there’s no bad blood between him and Kanye West. Revealing that he’s no longer signed to the latter’s G.O.O.D Music label, the “I Don’t F**k With You” rapper vowed that he’ll cherish their “brotherhood.”
The Detroit native confirmed the news after releasing “What You Expect”, his six-track collaborative EP with Hit-Boy, on Friday, October 29. “By the way this the first project where I’m on my own label as well, no more lil dawg s**t!!!! I bossed up! #DONLIFE,” he wrote on Twitter.
A fan then asked whether he’s still working with Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music. In response, Sean replied, “That’s a forever brotherhood, but business wise, I had to start getting a bigger cut! I worked my way out that deal.”
Sean departed from G.O.O.D Music after 14 years. Through the label, he released a total of six projects, starting with his 2011 debut album “Finally Famous” to his most recent album, 2020’s “Detroit 2”.
Sean had previously hinted at his exit from the label. Earlier this month, he tweeted, “I also really miss the brotherhood I use to have with GOOD music, I don’t know what happened. Guess those the GOOD ol days. It’s all love, but we use to really be clique’d up.”
Label aside, Sean recently treated fans to a music video for “Loyal to a Fault” featuring Lil Durk and Bryson Tiller. In the visual, the three emcees can be seen lamenting the downsides of maintaining a toxic relationship while hitting the bowling alley.
“If I can’t cut you out, I cut you off (Cut it)/ Bein’ honest to you only left me scarred (Wow)/ I’m done apologizin’ for some s**t that’s not my fault,” they rap. “Really, realized I need your all or none at all/ Nothin’ hurts forever, that’s just how the game goes/ Can’t be out here lookin’ stupid, lovin’ lame h*es.”
