Coi Leray Accused of Copying Ice Spice’s Rap Flow in Her New Song ‘Upnow’

Upon listening to the track, some fans apparently notice that her rap flow sounds similar to Ice Spice’s on ‘In Ha Mood’ with some accusing Coi of copying the ‘Munch’ femcee’s rap flow.

AceShowbizCoi Leray has just released a new song “Upnow”, in which she collaborates with DD Osama. Upon listening to the track, some fans apparently notice that her rap flow sounds similar to Ice Spice‘s on “In Ha Mood” with some accusing Coi of copying Ice Spice.

Fans point out that Coi also has the part when she says, “damn” in the song, which is identical to Ice Spice’s song. “the flow, the pause and then saying “damn”. she knows what she’s doing,” one person notes.

“I kinda hear the similarity,” another user says. Someone else writes, “Coi has never said “Like Damn” before she needs to gtf.”

Some others, however, think they don’t “sound the same at all.” One user says, “people been rapping like this but some of yall only listen to one female rapper,” with another adding, “So many rappers rap like this and it’s not even the same flow.”

That aside, Coi has just reached a career best with her song “Players”. The song is the “Blick Blick!” raptress’ fourth entry on the Hot 100, after “No More Parties” featuring Lil Durk (No. 26 peak in 2021); “Big Purr (Prrdd)” with Pooh Shiesty (No. 69, 2021); and “Blick Blick!” with Nicki Minaj (No. 37, 2022).

Meanwhile, Coi talked about the “good vibes” of the new female rapper generation. During her interview with Billboard. The “TWINNEM” femcee said of her song “Players”, “When I found out I was on the top 10 U.K. charts, and then the top 20 pop charts and then the top 20 Billboard [Hot 100]. That was a big stepping stone for me because my dream was to cross over.”

She continued, “Of course, I love Billboard. I look up to you guys. You guys are watching me grow, so I can’t wait to show you how much more I have for you.”
