Country music singer Jeff Carson dies from heart attack as tributes pour in

Country music star Jeff Carson has sadly passed away aged 58.

His publicist confirmed that the singer suffered a heart attack and died on March 26 at the Williamson Medical Center in Tennessee.

The star scored hits with Not On Your Live and The Car before becoming a police officer.

Fans have since taken to social media to remember Jeff following the tragic news.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "RIP country singer Jeff Carson. You will be missed."

Another added: "Sad news about Jeff Carson. Thoughts are with the family."

A third person posted: "It’s hard to believe he’s gone. One thing is for certain — Franklin Police Officer #JeffCarson changed everyone he met, all of us, for the better!

"Thank you, Jeff, for your life of service and song. May his message live on: God Save The World."

While a fourth social media user said: "Rest In Peace Jeff."

Jeff was born Jeffrey Lee Herndon in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1963.

He later moved to Nashville and recorded demos for Tracy Lawrence, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and other country stars.

The musician received a recording contract at Curb Records in 1995 and released a single Yeah Buddy.

He then recorded the singles Not On Your Love and The Car, which won his his first Academy of Country Music award for video of the year.

Jeff's career had 14 singles on the Billboard chart in his career.

He returned to music in 2019 and released a previously recorded song God Save The World.

The star had been in the studio with Buddy Hyatt recording an album to be released later this year with duets with Michael Ray, Darryl Worley and others.

Singer Bryan White said on Twitter that he was saddened to hear of his friend's death.

"He was a tremendous singer and one of the kindest people I’ve ever met … I’ll see you on the good side buddy," he penned.

On Twitter, the Franklin Police Department thanked Carson for his "life of service and song" and said Jeff “changed everyone he met, all of us, for the better".

"It’s hard to believe he’s gone," the department said on Twitter.
