GB News presenter Dan Wootton appears to be failing miserably in his bid to raise £150,000 towards legal fees in order to fight a number of criminal allegations made against him.
Despite reportedly having a net worth of millions, the 40-year old, who is also a columnist for the Daily Mail, appealed to the public for cash donations on July 21.
Since then, however, his supporters have pledged just £37,500 (as of 3pm, July 30) – amounting to 25 per cent of his goal, with just £3,000 of that figure gifted in the last six days.

Wootton has been the focus of recent allegations published by The Byline Times in which is he accused of using fake online identities to offer money to unsuspecting colleagues in return for videos of sexual activity.
Sharing a link to the fundraiser on Twitter, he wrote: "A hard left blog is on a deranged campaign of harassment designed to destroy me financially, mentally and professionally – but, with your help, they will not succeed. Please support my legal case against Byline Times so I can keep fighting for you."
The page itself continues: "Byline Times has eschewed all journalistic, legal and moral practices to publish a series of defamatory and untrue claims as part of a highly politicised witch hunt designed to cancel and de-platform me.

"Byline have already come for the likes of the Free Speech Union, the Legatum Institute, GB News and Douglas Murray who received substantial damages for their lies.
"Now they and others want to silence me."
Despite the allegations, Dan Wootton Tonight continues to air on GB News every Monday to Thursday at 9pm.
Many of the allegations relate to the time when Wootton was employed by The Sun, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News UK.
A spokesperson for News UK responded to the allegations: "We’re looking into the allegations made in recent days. We are not able to make any further comment at this stage."
And a spokesperson for Mail owners DMG Media added at the time: "We are aware of the allegations and are looking into them."
Peter Jukes of Byline Times recently told Yahoo: "This is a very Trumpian tactic. Trump was alleged to have broken various US laws, and rather than address those issues of fact, he said it’s a conspiracy and a witch hunt.
"Exactly the same language is used by Wootton – you attack the motive. I understand why he’s doing that on a personal level, it’s not very convincing on an evidential level."
They added that they pursued the story because of alleged personal behaviours and "things we believe are wrong individually".
