Davina McCall’s love life – footballer fling, Eric Clapton romance, holiday sex

Davina McCall has become one of the most recognised faces on British television.

The 54-year-old television presenter has a glittering career which began back in 1992.

She was the presenter of the reality show Big Brother during its run on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010 and also hosted Channel 4's Streetmate. The Million Pound Drop, Five Minutes to a Fortune and and reality show The Jump.

Davina has also appeared on ITV's The Biggest Loser, Long Lost Family and This Time Next Year (2016–2019).

From 2010 to 2014, the TV personality has presented the Sky One dance competition show Got To Dance.

Since 2020, she has been a judge on the ITV musical competition show The Masked Singer, and since 2021, a spin-off of the show, The Masked Dancer.

Davina is currently dating her boyfriend Michael Douglas, but who else has the star been linked with?

Eric Clapton

Davina and Eric began dating in 1985. The rock star was Davina’s first love and was there for her during a very turbulent time in her life.

At the time Davina was around 18 years old and guitarist Eric helped her manage her heroin addiction into her 20s, and once the star was clean he helped her career take off.

Thanks to Eric and Narcotics Anonymous, Davina began to recover and managed to get herself back on track and into the limelight.

The Brit Award winner helped McCall land her first MTV presenting position in 1992 and she never looked back, since enjoying her career to the fullest and presenting countless shows.

Andrew Leggett

Davina’s first marriage was to shop manager Andrew Leggett in 1997, a short union of only three months.

The pair met in March, married in September and were split by December.

Their marriage reportedly broke down because they argued and in an interview, one of only a few she made about her first marriage, she said: “I fell madly in love but it was wrong so I got out quick. I won’t talk about it because he’s not a celebrity and it’s not fair on him.”

Stan Collymore

Whilst she was a presenter for MTV and living the high life, Davina had a brief encounter with footballer Stan in 1998.

Collymore had moved from The Reds to Aston Villa when they began their relationship, but it was short and sweet and the pair soon separated.

Stan wrote that she was ‘the one that got away’ in his autobiography Tackling My Demons and that he would have married her if it wasn’t for another woman’s input.

Matthew Robertson

Her second marriage was to TV personality Matthew Robinson, host of Pet Rescue and Davina’s co-star in Sam’s Games.

Davina previously revealed how they kept the spark in their marriage alive, saying their secret was child-free holidays: "It’s so important. It’s not just the sex – although we do it every day on holiday, which is a glorious luxury.

"We can even do it in the morning, which we certainly can’t do at home as we often have three children bouncing on our bed at 6am."

They married in 2000 and had three children together, but news of their split came in 2017 after almost two decades together.

Davina recently spoke in an interview that the couple remained in the same house even though they had decided to call off the marriage, saying: “The summer after my 50th birthday Matthew and I had split up."

"I was in a real transitional phase of my life."

"We'd still been living in our house together, which was awkward. I hadn't moved on and I was in this weird no-man's land, but then I moved out and started renting a place and that felt like the first step in a new phase.”

Michael Douglas

Davina is now loved up again after confirming she was in a relationship with hairdresser Michael Douglas.

The pair have been dating since 2019 after he had been her hair stylist for a whopping 20 years before their romance.

Michael has cut the hair of plenty of celebs, boasting clients such as Johnny Depp, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, making him one of the most sought after celeb hairdressers.

Davina and Michael seem happier than ever but tend to keep their relationship off social media, occasionally sharing the rare selfie on Instagram.

The Masked Singer UK continues Sunday on ITV at 7pm
